From what Scott Bryan said on -> http://www.buzzfeed.com/scottybryan/i-read-the-new-50-shades-book-and-it-is-absolutely-batshit?bftw&utm_term=4ldqpfp#4ldqpfp , I would not recommend this book. Check out this link!
P.S. I HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK
P.S. I HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK
I've never cringed so hard in my life. I liked the trilogy as a teen but you could not pay me enough money to read this
I don't know why I do this to myself sometimes. Really I just want to be able to add something to the conversation (read: group vent) when people complain about this book, as will inevitably happen. Just as others will inevitably love it'-- which I will not be able to help elaborate during any such conversation.
I thought I would hate this book, with its undertones (or outright scenes) of violence against women. Ultimately, it felt like this book was really just Ms. James way to try to validate that her character is just a flawed person, who uses whips and belts as a mean of sexual expression. She tries to show us the victim underneath of all the dominance issues and control.
And ultimately I just didn't care. Plain and simple I was bored. Her attempt to make me see the hurt little boy didn't resonate. Maybe if I read this first, it would have worked. Nothing about this book felt original, probably because I read it all before, and reading from Christian Grey's perspective really didn't add anything for me-- especially conversations about mergers and deals *zzzzz*.

There is no earthly reason for me to read this, other than to get more of what's promised in this pretty awesome review.

Not much to add to this review above, but ELJ has used up her lifetime quota of the following words:
-sated
-beguiled/bewitched
-delectable
-envisaged
-replete
And finally, Christian Grey is one of the least self-aware characters I've ever read, particularly considering the lifetime of therapy he's allegedly gone through. If I start going down the rabbit hole of this book's shortcomings, though, this review will never be over!

DNF 10%
So I knew that this would be the same thing as
FSOG but to be honest, the first isn't my favorite any way. I love the second and third but not so much to the first. This was just so BORING. And I must say Flo was right about Christain being a big PUSSY. So furthermore I have lots of books to read and review and i don't wanna waste my time on one that I knew how I felt about it.

OH MY CHRISTIAN! OMG!!! Dying!!! Can't wait!

See the World of Fifty Shades of Grey
Anew through the eyes of Christian Grey
In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, and reflections, and dreams. E.L. James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.
Christian great exercise control of all things: his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty — until one day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of sharply limbs, and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before. Shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him — past the business prodigy and penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold wounded heart.
Will being with Anna dispel the horrors of his childhood that taught Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, the self-loathing that fills his soul drive away this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

I know there are people that are going to hate on this book just on their own principle. But I say don't knock it til you try it. And, well since I haven't read MOTU since 2009 and I've not read the 3 books, I actually enjoyed 50's POV. E.L.'s writing def has improved and I didn't miss the inner goddess.... at all. I do, however, look forward to the next book. Good Read.

I tried to read this stuff, but it was too much. With Anastasia we have the point of view of an idiot, but in this book there is the POV of a mean person, so I gave up. A bad childhood is not a good excuse, even if you are a tormented billionaire, because you should have been able to afford a good psychotherapy at last.

I was hoping it would be a part 4 of the series, but it follows the course of events that Ana goes through. It doesn't give much perspective into Christians past as I would have hoped, but it's a quick, easy beach read.
