Debut novel; coming of age story. Thoroughly enjoyable, although the author addresses some serious issues (caregiving for someone with Parkinsons, family dynamics, discrimination in the workplace, etc.). Can't wait to read more from this author.

This book reminded me a lot of Queenie and the audiobook narration by Heather Agyepong is amazing.

I don't think I have ever read a book that resonated with me before. This book was my story. I cried true tears, laughed, mourned my father, and shared it with my therapist. This is the story of so many "responsible" children who love strong and feel stronger. I will be reading it again. Such an amazing story.

This books has a lot of unexpected humor. You will find yourself laughing out loud. The books speaks to the journey of self-discovery that we all embark on when we find ourselves having to pivot.

3.5 really and it's a totally subjective starring of course. Things I really enjoyed: the specificity of the her world that kept making me think, yes I can see that, details I felt I'd seen in real life or could see. The mother, family, the interior life of the main character, the detailed and awkward housemate dynamics of a triad. The reason I didn't rate it higher had to do with my life stage. I was talking to a friend who also read it and we agreed that we're kind of over coming of age stories. If I had read it in my 20's, I think it would of been a 5 star review from me.
