I loved Maddie and her journey in the this book. it was so engaging and i didn’t want to leave Maddie behind.

A charming take on depression, illness, second generation immigrants and coming of age later in life. I know that doesn't sound charming but Maddie with all her flaws absolutely is and it's wonderful to see her grow and experience life which sometimes she finds to be devastatingly painful.
This book is a great reminder that you need friends with whom you can be open and honest and boundaries with your family that allow you to find your own way. Realistically it's probably a 3.5 for me as things like the constant Google searches and inserting text conversations didn't work for me but the other sections were so well done that I rounded up.

What a powerful story of womanhood. Maddie’s journey into herself was beautiful, funny, painful at times. A few moments I found her to be a bit *too* clueless about things, but overall it was such an empowering story that left me so proud of her.
