What a powerful story of womanhood. Maddie’s journey into herself was beautiful, funny, painful at times. A few moments I found her to be a bit *too* clueless about things, but overall it was such an empowering story that left me so proud of her.

I just couldn't get interested in this one.
I found it and the main character boring.

This was a easy read like a Bridget Jones, although it attacks tough issues such as micro aggressions, death and family responsibilities. It was fast paced but not super engaging.
I DEVOURED this book. I have no idea why I was so drawn to it; the main character and I had almost nothing in common. But alas, I found myself unable to put this book down and therefore I have deemed it an incredible read.
This is a great coming of age-ish story. Maddie is in her mid twenties and doesn’t feel passionate about much. Her father has Parkinson’s disease and she is his primary caregiver, while her brother follows his dreams and rarely calls, and her mother is living in Ghana running a hostel. Maddie lacks purpose and uses her mother returning to London as an excuse to revamp her life and be her own person. Tragedy strikes and it throws Maddie into a depression she can’t escape. This novel was amazing to listen to, it helped to hear pronunciations and appropriate accents for characters. The ending was sweet and wrapped up nicely. Highly recommend!

A fun read about someone learning more about themselves. Felt like I was reading a story similar to my own or that of a friend in this moment in my life.
Started out strong, but lost me in all the sex scenes. Not that they were gross- just enough already.
