Not my cup of tea.

"The Heir and the Spare" started out strong, funny and cute, but towards the end the dialogue felt forced and inconsistent.

Just enough ridiculousness, just enough swoon, just enough adventure to make for a fun fast read.

This was an amazing book and I loved every moment of reading it. This book was one of those books that once you pick it up you can't put it down which is why I finished it with in a day. The one thing I noticed about it was that it was slightly cliche. It was like The Prince and Me met Barbie: Princess Charm School. However, I liked the unique spin that was placed on this cliche. How the quest letters Evie received from her mom made it interesting and the jealousy that was a consent throughout the whole book. One thing I didn't like was that Edmund and Evie never seemed to sort out their relationship, but I can see how that was apart of the plot in certain ways. I loved the little minor things that happened through out the book, keeping it interesting like Presten's feelings for Evie. These little instance didn't make it far in the plot, but it did make the book interesting. Finally, I loved Evie's response to her duchess-ship in the end. I liked how she didn't just hopped into that sort of world, but actually thought about how it would effect her life and acted very realistically. Also Evie and Edmund's relationship was adorable despite their lack of being labeled which Edmund had a good reason for. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone it was perfect and I think it was exactly what I needed to get out of the slump I've been in.

I really enjoyed this even though it was a bit predictable. The characters are fun and funny, well rounded and complex. The story is sweet and thoroughly enjoyable.

This is such a cute story. I absolutely loved Evie, Edmund, and all of their friends. Preston is Edmund's best friend. He also has a crush on Evie, which becomes a bit of an issue as jealousy rears its head on occasion. In addition, Jacqueline...AKA Jax, is the entitled wannabe girlfriend who keeps showing up to lure Edmund. She is downright nasty and it doesn't take long to discover why Edmund isn't interested.

Interactions with the paparazzi, Edmund's security detail, and vacations to Royal estates are just some of the things Evie experiences while dating a Prince. She knows how she feels about him, but she isn't sure if the feeling is mutual. She wants to make sure he is choosing her because of who she is and not because of a title she may possess. I don't think she ever needed to worry about that, but I could understand her initial concern.

I absolutely love anything involving the Royal family, so this was almost a sure winner for me. I have no idea why I left it sitting in my TBR pile for so long!

I must admit, I love royal stories. They are my guilty pleasure. This book was fun and delightful. I loved the adventure that she was sent on.

Honestly, this book was complete crap. Nothing actually occurred; I mean a million things did, but the reader was NEVER shown those things. Rather the book jumped from scene to scene, excluding any actual plot and character development. By the end of the book the reader still doesn't KNOW the characters or feel any sort of connection. This terrible development wasn't even made up for a little bit with a unique story, this was every 'marry a prince, family-secret' backstory in one, with nothing new brought forward.
