A wonderful book about loss, growing up, and the broad expanse of people that are thrown together in a plane flight. I think the book does a great job addressing and acknowledging the expanse of grief and what it takes to move through it.

This is an emotional story. It was difficult to read because of the heaviness of the story. It's well written.  I like the way we alternate between Edward's life after the crash and the events that lead up to the crash. Edward or Eddie lost his immediate family in a plane crash. He was the only survivor in the crash. He has trouble facing what happened to him. His aunt and uncle try to protect him and take care of him the best they can.  He's in therapy, but refuses to discuss the crash. Outside of his bubble people have been posting about him on social media and family members of the other passengers want to ask him questions.  He is a 12 year old boy who has to deal with survivor's guilt and grief.  He makes friends with his neighbor Shay and she helps him deal with his issues. When he turns fifteen he and Shay find all of the letters that people have written him over the years.
