I really enjoyed this book. Zelda is not the main character, but she might as well have been to me, because I found myself not really caring about Anna and her story, but more about Zelda.
Knowing very little about the infamous Fitzgerald's, this book made me want to learn more about the life of both Zelda and Scott.

I enjoyed this novel. It was easy to get through. There were moments when it made me cry. There were also times that I was removed from the book. The repetition of the same words or statement began to make me roll my eyes. Overall, I don’t regret reading it, but I probably wouldn’t read it again.

This just makes me want to do a deeper dive into Zelda and her life! I love how this was told not from Zeldas POV, but from an outsider.

This was an okay book for the car. The story ended up being a bit contrived (it started out well but went downhill as the book progressed). Basically it is the story of Zelda's nurse's interactions with the celebrity throughout the years and the ups and downs of their relationship. The narration was okay, although the reader was limited in the accents she could do with dialogue. Just felt a bit let down at the end.

Fitting that I finished this devastating and interesting book on Zelda’s Birthday, and not on purpose. I love her so much. She’s an incredible tragically historical figure for America.

Well-researched, but I found this to be a little over the top for my taste. Too many far-fetched plot contrivances.

Loved this book! You get to perspnally know Zelda in this novel, told from the point of view of her nurse-come-friend. The reader gains an interesting insight into the working of her disturbed mind, and is able to sympathise with the loving/damaging relationship between F.Scott and Zelda.

Erika Robuck set out on a daunting task when she decided to write about the Fitzgeralds. The novel provides a good starting point for those who wish to get back into reading as I have, but do not expect to be deeply moved by the writing or the plot.
While the writing style flows, the language used varies between simplistic to overly sophisticated (to the point of trying too hard). The novel kept me in a constant imbalance of finding the sections with Zelda more interesting and finding Anna's section more interesting but led to no climax that was satisfying.
I felt that Anna was well-developed but her story became simplified throughout and the backstory that made her interesting evaporated. The romances portrayed between Anna and other characters throughout are stale and, with the exception of Ben, they don't seem to serve a purpose.
This is only the first book I've read dealing with the Fitzgeralds. I know there are more and I can say this novel is probably one of the worst written.
