fun read about how much people love their favorite book and why it helped them in the past (plus a twist of course).
Parts of this book were wonderful, and others were just ok. I found myself wishing I could have read the “original” book this story was based on, as the writing for those faux quotes was so compelling and delightful.
“Haven’t you ever read something and felt like it was written just for you?”
A wholly unique horror fantasy that is like a cross between Watership Down and The Hunger Games. Many thanks to the “Books of Horror” Facebook group for bringing this one to my attention, or I never would have known about this gem.

It's too poetic for me, I can't do the flowery writing style
A unique story told by an author struggling to find his voice
Winterset Hollow offers a surprisingly unique storyline. This is no run-of-the-mill novel. It is dark and ponderous. However, the reader will have to fight through embarrassingly poor editing and the author’s own struggle to find his voice. It wouldn’t hurt for the author to make of use of a thesaurus, too.

Honestly, one of my favorite books of the past few years. What a debut from an author!

Winterset Hollow is a beautifully written novel, I honestly can't get over how well this story was told. Not to mention is was bat sh*t crazy. I'm talking if all the animals from wind in the willows where anthropomorphic and really p*ssed, so decide hunt humans... it was a ride. This is definitely a high 3 star, I just didn't have that 4 star feeling. I think it was perhaps a bit too long and full of brutality? Saying that, it didn't feel overdone, just that it could have wrapped up quicker. I definitely recommend it if you fancy something that doesn't take itself too seriously, but also has bloody great writing.

Not only is this my favorite book I've read in 2024 this is a new favorite book of all time!! Honestly this novel has just become my Roman Empire. The way Durham writes is so lirically poetic yet so grotesquely tragic and i'm just obsessed!! This book will 100% stick with me for the rest of my life and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a deviating story that is told with immense beauty and brilliance.
I read this book after following the author on Facebook. I had an idea of what this was about but man, was it wrong! This book was so dense. It took me quite a while to get through but I really loved it
