I really enjoyed this book. The characters were lovable and the banter was great. I need more Jack though.

This was a solid read, it was light and easy to read and a fun time. It was a tad spicier than I thought it would be but not in a bad way. I always enjoy a fake dating trope but I felt it was not played up as much as it could have been here to create more tension. Overall it was a fun read but not super memorable.

I want to start off saying this I really love Lana Ferguson’s other books: The Nanny (4⭐️) and the Fake Mate (5⭐️). This one just didn’t hit for me. I’m not a huge fan of the ‘brother’s best friend’ troupe because it usually implies the MCs knew each other in the past. I like a good meet cute in my romance books. There wasn’t anything in this book that stood out to me: the characters and plot were both meh.
To end my review on a good note: the cover is very cute and I loved that the FMC was a TV baker (how fun is that?!). Maybe you’d this if you’re a big hockey romance lover (although there isn’t much hockey) but overall, this is a skippable book in my opinion.
