This book was hard to get through. The pacing was slow and did not push the plot in any way. By the time the killer was revealed, I was already at 76%. Majority of the book was Hannah feeding her cat, “Oh, I have to get home to my cat”, and “I have someone at home waiting for me…..my cat”.

The murderer wasn’t mentioned in the book at all until the very last minute, so it was confusing than shocking. But, if you’re into baking, you may like the recipes. The mass paperback cover is nice.

This is the second book in the Hanna Swensen series by Joanne Fluke.

Hannah is back and trying to solve the murder of Boyd Watson, along with the help of her sister, Andrea. As Hannah digs deep she uncovers lots of secrets about the citizens of Lake Eden.

I quite liked this mystery, even though I solved the mystery before Hannah. I like the close relationship Hannah is starting to have with her sister, especially as they were never close growing up. It's nice to see them trying to solve the murder together.

This is a fun series and I will likely continue on with this series.

A delightful mystery with delicious recipes. One of my favourite cozy mystery series.

Fluke's sequel to her first pastry mystery didn't disappoint! It reads very quickly and the plot is well raveled- so it's not easy to figure out the whodunit. The recipes sound and look delicious, and I can't wait to try some of them out. A lot of people tend to pass by these cheesy sounding books because they think they're not well written or have much depth to them. The opposite is true- the characters are endearing and each page pulls you into the story. I do enjoy the fact that the murder happens very early on in the story, so there isn't much of a lead in, unlike others that take almost 100 pages in to off the victim. What is also interesting is that the victim here is a character from the first book- not a main one, of course, but we know him and have some invested interest. I can't wait for the next one and some new recipes!

I wish i could have read more quicker but things were crazy with school starting this week. This was a great book. I so had the murderer picked out about 2/3 of the way through but that didn't stop the books from being a page turner whenever i got an extra minute to read. A great cozy and the recipes sounded divine :)

Loving these series! Such quick fun reads!
