I have to stop reading this series, and stick with the movies. There is rarely a time where I will say this but... the movies are better.
I know a lot of people like this series but it is not for me. Maybe it gets better as it goes on but I will never know that. I can not tolerate another book with Hannah Swensen.
Hannah is so judgment of everyone in her town, she basically called them all idiots. Then she spends most of the book keeping evidence from the police.
Also Spoiler alert:
Maybe Lucy would still be alive or at least her body not so decomposed if Hannah had reported the evidence when she found it rather then keeping it quite so she could think it thru. I blame Hannah and her selfishness for Lucy's death. Hannah should be in jail and Lisa should take over the cookie store, Lisa does all the work anyways.

I’ve read a few Hannah Swenson books and these are just cute, cozy mysteries that are perfect when you’re a foodie like me. I’m reading this one in 2021, and I believe this was published in 2001 or so, so it does appear a bit dated but overall, Joanne Fluke’s stories are perfect when you just need a quick read with a fun mystery.
Great follow-up to the first book in the series. I especially enjoyed the little romance that is included in the series. These books are great, light reads when you just want to escape for a while.
