Loving this series. I think I would love to move to lake Eden and be friends with the peopl in this town, but it just seems to cold! I'll settle for reading about their adventures.

I like cooking as well as crime novels, so I really wanted to like this series. So far I don’t think the first 2 books hold up after only 20 years, the main character Hannah comes off rude to me, I don’t know if it’s supposed to read like Midwestern charm. I’m going to keep reading the rest of the series, but so far the two murders aren’t captivating and I wouldn’t use the recipes from these first 2 books

The recipes were delightful and I loved the relationship between Hannah and Lisa (although are they setting up Lisa to be a villain???)

There was a bunch of shocking and ableist language including calling a member of the community “the R-word man.” Couldn’t give it the three stars it would’ve gotten without the gut punching and derogatory language.

Cheesy but fun. I would have never figured out whodunnit though. The clues were so subtle, I never would have made the connection. This is a cute series.

It was just alright. It had some weird pacing especially in the last quarter of the book, and it was definitely more predictable than the first book. It had the same “I’m not like other girls” talking points, and some fatphobia going on. I don’t know if it hooked me enough to keep me reading the series. I’m still interested in seeing how her romance plays out and seeing how the characters grow, so I think I’ll try one more book and see what happens.
