Why does every boy/girl twin storyline have them being awkwardly close? I say this as the female portion of boy/girl twins....
Also, I love the trope of being in love with the sibling's best friend, but when you reach your mid-20s, is that really a reason to be off limits? I would have accepted it if this were a historical romance, but in a contemporary setting, I find it difficult to believe. And even though the author mentions the fact that Tom is Darcy's brother's best friend, the struggle-- at least on Darcy's end-- seemed more because he was in a relationship with someone else, not his friendship with Jamie.

Spoiler
As a side note-- I want to know Jamie and Truly's story.
sally thorne u get my needs in romance novels better than anyone else
This book was basically lead up to a stellar sex scene, lead up, lead up, just get it done already, and then the sex scene occurs, isn't as steamy as I expected. It's one saving grace is the cute ending.
This book was so fun. I loved The Hating Game and that inspired me to pick up this book. I was not disappointed.
I lost track of time reading this book. That is how fun it is. All about buildup and wanting. Rawr!
The ending is a bit "meh" but the ride this book takes you on is so fun, you do not care.

3.5. The medical issue stressed me out, otherwise enjoyable enough.
Sally Thorne made an absolute splash with "The Hating Game". It was the best "First Book" I've ever read. I was terribly anxious to discover whether she would keep up the amazingness (It's a word, in my mind) in "99% Mine". Guess what!? She did! This book was fantastic!
Tom is my all time favorite Hero type. He's strong, dependable, dedicated, and has been in love with Darcy his entire life. I love that Darcy sees him. These types of heroes are so undervalued, both in fiction, and real life. I adore them. (Both on the page, and in person). This is not to say he is perfect (I mean, he kinda is, but) He still has issues to work through. He had a very difficult life. He's under immense pressure. He kind of cracks under it. It only makes me love him more.
Darcy is a complex character. She's wild. She's wild in a good way, and a bad way. I love her for it. She is far from perfect, and she knows it. She is unapologetically herself. She isn't a wilting flower with no self esteem by any means. She is a strong woman who objectively recognizes her flaws, and either accepts them as who she is, or strives to be better. We could all take a page out of Darcy's book. Her relationship with her twin is fascinating. I have tiny blond boy/girl twins myself, which may have given me an extra soft spot for the Darcy/Jamie dynamic. I was on pins and needles waiting for them to kiss and make up the whole entire book.
The only thing that disappointed me about this story was that we didn't get to see the scene where Darcy tells Tom about Valeska. I realize this makes no sense if you haven't read it, but once you do, come chat with me about how much we NEED that deleted scene. Seriously. Sally, if you ever see this, PLEASE! I'm begging for it! Bonus content! Necessary! Everything else in this story is phenomenal.
The thing about Sally Thorne's books (Both of them so far, and I hypothesize, most of them in the future) is that they are Romance novels, but they aren't JUST romance novels. These characters are incredibly deep. They have a past, they have issues, they have real world style relationships with ups and downs. And not just the predictable romance book disagreement 3/4 of the way through the book just for the sake of plot drama. I mean they struggle with the real world. It makes them easily fall within the top 1% of contemporary romance. This is only her second work, and I am already a fan for life.

*Spoiler Alert*
The main character was a bit too straight forward for me. I mean, she told her love interest “Get in me” within two minutes of hearing he was single again. A lot of the dialog was really corny and ridiculous. This storyline had potential when it came to sexual tension, but instead it fell so flat. I stayed up really late finishing this book, not because it was a page turner, but because I really just wanted to be done with it.
