Was helpful in helping me understand how different savings vehicles work here in Canada as well as provided me with lots of sensible ways to spend, save and think about money. Easy to understand, quick to read and full of useful information. Takes the stress out of the daunting world of personal finance.

Sold book for people first learning about budgeting. Less numbers and calculations and more thoughts and processes. Very informative. Written like your having a conversation with someone. Not too dry.

This is a practical and funny personal finance guide, which I sorely need as I transition from irresponsible student to a somewhat-responsible adult that will save money for the future!

About the same message as in Millionaire Teacher, but this book is a bit more outdated and the story isn't as well written. Still a good book on simple investing though !

Good and very casual overview regarding the philosophy of saving money but is intentionally light on the financial details of saving. A bit more detail and explanation of financial terms would have been beneficial to readers who are new to personal finance. Otherwise, very much recommended.

It was alright, though the first half kind of just felt like he was repeating "don't spend more than you earn" repeated in different ways and then the second half assumed more financial knowledge. The writing style was entertaining for the most part, however. I haven't read the original, but I imagine that one would be more enjoyable because of the narrative style vs. this one just being a collection of his thoughts about finance.

Offers a lot of common sense advice. Unfortunately, that reduces the value of the book for me, as common sense advice is already readily available online. Nonetheless, I would recommend this to people who want to get a start on getting their finances in line.

Maybe The Wealthy Barber was a better read, but I didn't read it and instead jumped into this "sequel." The financial advice ranged from stupidly simple to doesnt-apply-to-me-I'm-not-Canadian. That wouldn't have been as bad, but Chilton tries to be funny in his writing. He's about as funny as a stand up comedian laughing at his own jokes when no one in the crowd is. Awkward.
