Oh good, a white dude that thinks he's funny, rambling on for 150 pages...

This was fine but it was definitely riding on the coattails of The Wealthy Barber (without even following the same format...) There's nothing wrong with this but there's much better out there.

Not as valuable to me as the first was. The final quarter has some new information which I diligently took notes on, but the first bit feels really loose and not the most helpful.

I appreciated the humourous style (though this one isn't told in a narrative format like the first one), but some sentences had me questioning his seriousness and integrity. Did he write this book for the sake of writing another book or does he truly live and stand by this advice? It was hard to tell in places.

This is a great book for someone who wants to get introduction to financial literacy in Canada.
Reading this book is like having a cup of coffee with Dave, and let him make you lough while you are learning from your barber (hahahaa)!!!

Great read! It was more a collection of financial thoughts than a narrative. His voice was funny and easy to read. 90% of the book was understandable to a beginner but I did have trouble understanding some concepts introduced at the end.

Great read for those who need to know the basics - but I think there are more corny dad jokes than actual financial advice in there

What I Learned: The happiest and most satisfied investors are usually those that invest in an index fund and aren't checking the market every hour but trusting that the balance will work out in their favour in the long run.

This was a nice addendum to The Wealthy Barber and although I'm glad that I read that first, I actually liked this one a lot more. The format was still casual and humorous but I enjoyed the fact that it was straight-forward and to-the-point. He does a good job of making investing seem pretty simple and answered the questions I had after his last book. The financial advice was great, but equally important were the chapters on status anxiety and the importance of reframing our idea of success.
