Ew..what the hell!!!

The first chapter of this book had my crying, aching. hurting.
It's the chapter that hit me hardest because of its relatability, even though rupi kaur did not try to achieve that. She did anyway.

The second chapter of this book reminded me of precious moments I've shared during my existence, moments in which I felt loved, in which I loved and which I'll always cherish.

The third chapter made me think of things I never really thought of before. Made me contemplate them in a way I wouldn't normally do.

The fourth chapter showed me that there's strength in each and every one of us but that we simply have to find it, believe in it. Believe in ourselves.

This book changed me.
And I'm grateful.

2 stars overall, because I don't consider this poetry. Relatable journal entries, thoughts on love and abuse, yes. But not poetry. I read the whole darn thing in about 45 minutes. I did mark about 4 pages that spoke to me very personally; I honestly could relate to the whole book other than the few that were about women of color. (Since I'm white.) It was a very simple and easy read, but again, felt like I was reading a bunch of short journal entries and not thought provoking poems. There was a lot of truth spoken and voiced about how the world is and how relationships are. It was nice to see them put into words I am very torn about this book. I want to like it, but it should be classified as something other than poetry, as that, it is not.

A lovely book of poems full of emotion. I adored the feminist undertones as well. I would recommend this book to any woman, but also anyone in general. 3.5/5 starts
