This was a good, quick read. I really enjoyed Fionn as a MC and his grandad as well. They are quite similar, but then, they're family so that makes sense. I liked the relationships in the book as well. What I was missing in terms of characters, was a main antagonist. There were some, but they felt a bit weak, although I think this will change in the next book.
The entire atmosphere was very nicely done and created a nice setting.

I liked this a lot! Only downside was that it ended before we got to the conflict with the big bad... Felt a bit like a first chapter rather than a whole story but it was a great one!

I thought this was a solid middle grade series. I did not love the pacing of this read but I grew to love the characters over the course of the book. I liked the magic elements of this book and also how this book dealt with many different types of family drama. It was slower book but one that still captured my attention, I did enjoy the main character and really am excited to see how he grows in future books in this series.

Ihastuttava ja taianomainen maailma, vauhdikas juoni ja mielenkiintoisia taikaelementtejä! Tykkäsin tästä paljon ja seuraavat osat laitoin heti lukulistalle.

Fionn arrives on Arranmore Island just in time to battle the storm that's brewing.

His grandfather is the Storm Keeper and he's been saving up his magic in candles for his grandson to use to fight the coming darkness.

It doesn't help that Fionn's older sister Tara ditches him to fawn all over Bartley, the boy who's vying for the role of Storm Keeper. Or that the island is hiding a magic so dark, so sinister, it threatens them all -- Morrigan.

If the teens can find the entrance to the mystical Sea Cave, it will grant one wish -- but only one. What will Fionn wish for? To become the next Storm Keeper? Or to save his father, who drowned in a storm many years before? Or to save his sister Tara, who's lost somewhere deep in the bowels of the cave?

This was a great read!

Magical and fun tale that draws on Irish mythology.
