Malheureusement, je n'ai pas trop accroché à cet opus donc j'ai découvert le meurtrier assez rapidement. Qu'à cela ne tienne, j'en lirai d'autres !

Despite the fact that I could kind of predict the ending of this story, I still enjoyed it just like all the other Agatha Christie books. Maybe it wasn't as intriguing as many of the other ones I've read by her though.
A classic whodunit from the very well-known authoress, Agatha Christie. 'Hallowe'en Party' has got all that you look for in a murder mystery book. It's got murder, mystery and a clever detective - Hercule Poirot - trying to solve the murder in a brilliantly clever way. Very well done, Mrs. Agatha Christie.

Hallowe'en Party is a great book for the fall, and I’m biased when it comes to Poirot because I love Agatha Christie. These stories tend to challenge the way you think as you question who did what to solve the mystery.
Did Joyce really witness a murder, or was she just trying to impress Ariadne Oliver, who was a famous crime novel writer also attending the Halloween party? Someone thought Joyce was telling the truth as she would be found later that evening drowned in a tub of apples.
I was completely wrong about who the murderer was, but I was close, as more characters would succumb to the killer as he or she covers their tracks. It all seems confusing as suspects don’t understand Poirot’s line of questioning or why certain aspects of the case are important. But it’s also typical that Poirot asks questions that don’t seem to be important but all have a purpose.
In classic Poirot fashion, he already suspects what’s happening and comes to a conclusion quickly, gathering all the clues to reveal the killer. I know this review is vague, but there’s no way of telling more without giving the entire book away.
