My first Agatha Christie novel! She now has one more fan for sure!
Definitely not the best Poirot novel out there. But I still have many of them to read.

This one dragged a bit in the middle but the finale was impressive.

Marvelous audiobook narration. I love that this story spends so much time emphasizing how annoyed everyone was by the murdered child - these villagers are ruthless! Not Christie's best, but atmospheric.
I saved this book to read around Halloween and it was the perfect spooky book to get stuck into in October. With Poirot on the case of a murder; a death by drowning in an apple bobbing bucket at a Halloween party. Could it be anymore apt for the spooky season?
This book also heralded the return of Ariadne Oliver too and I so love her character. It was great to read her interactions with Poirot as they both set about solving this case.
It was another one of Agatha Christie’s fantastic murder mystery plots, with plenty of twists and turns, red herrings and questions marks to keep you guessing about whodunnit.
I loved reading this one and found it really entertaining and so enjoyable to read.
