This ended up having a good story and I still like the characters but it was very slow and legal-ly in the first half.
Wow, that was a tedious book. No John Grisham novel should take six weeks to read. If it were a better book, I could have managed more than a couple of pages at a time. Why did I persist, you may ask? No clue.
Great book! It was so nice to catch up with Jake and to see him over come adversity & win the case!
I thought it was better than some of Grisham's most recent novels. It had some good twists and legal maneuvering and had the same setting as Grisham's first book - A Time to Kill.
Awesome plot development, as usual. I loved the continued story of Jake et al. It did seem to drag at times, hence 4 stars.
It's been a long time since I read a Grisham book. I remember them being more exciting and fast paced than this one. I thought the beginning and ending were good, but the middle just seemed to go on and on, without much purpose. I kept reading just to see how it was going to tie together. I gave it 4 stars, but it's probably more like 3.5.
I like John Grisham. 9i enjoyed this story and the characters. Somewhat predictable, but good story!
Being a fan of John Grisham's books, it is no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Grisham's story-telling simply appeals to me. "Sycamore Row" is another example of Grisham's ability to draw in his readers, to keep them guessing, and to drive us to pick up another of his books.
