As much as I liked the premise, the characters and their enemies-to-lovers chemistry, the writing was getting repetitive and too little was happening besides having sex, fantasizing about having sex, and dreaming about having sex. I'm all for spice, but not so much that it grinds the plot to a halt. I gave up at Chapter 13, but may revisit the book again later at a later point.

- Too much focus on sex without enough storyline
- While I'm not at all opposed to spice, there was a significant lack of actual plot to go along with it

strange strange pacing and strange strange conflict - unfortunately the two mcs voices were so indistinguishable I literally had to go back to the beginning of every chapter to check who’s perspective I was in 😇 their characters blended into one another more and more as the book progressed too :((( the pacing was also questionable with the first three quarters of the book leading up to the main heist (this part was actually kinda fun!) but the fantasy aspects in the last quarter felt extremely underdeveloped and made the entire book fall flat. the characters reasonings for doing things and their lack of maturity & understanding during the final conflict also felt unrealistic and extremely frustrating :( the chemistry between the two mcs was definitely there but that’s kind of all the book has going for it 🫣 it is super accessible and quick to read tho so 3 stars #ilovelesbians

Holy hot hate f*cking - is this a wild riiiiide!  This book knocked me off my feet. I listened to the audiobook and it could not have been more of a match made in hotness. I can't even right now with this book. This enemies-to-lovers, sapphic dark romantasy novel is incredible. The world-building is phenomenal, the characters are absolutely captivating, the chemistry is EXPLOSIVE and the narrators are perfect for the vibe of this book.  The story alone is top notch but the added performance of these narrators just broke the ceiling.
I loved the adventure and darkness of this book. It was just flawlessly executed and I can't get enough. What else did I love?? SO MUCH - I loved Scarletts edges and Quinns curves, I loved their firey hatred / obsession with each other, I loved the way they both fought (literally and figuratively) their pull to each other. I've never been so captivated by extreme hate segsy time before.
This book.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
When do audiobooks 2 and 3 come out b/c WHILE I have purchased the physical copies - I'm salivating to experience these in audio.

Triggers: sex, violence, language, murder

A true enemies to lovers story where the MCs hated each other so passionately they often sabotaged each other's jobs and dreamt of killing one another but the sex is so good they couldn't quite bring themselves to do the final job. Was it just the sex that made them not pull the trigger or something more?

In the beginning it was a little hard to get through but the action and the spicy sex picked up very quickly which made it hard to put down! The story had plenty of twists which reveal themselves towards the end, but have no fear the author left it wide open for the sequel!

Let's talk world and character building. World building, I like enough to get me through but not over explaining and in my opinion the author walked the line on this. There was more in the beginning which is why I had a harder time starting it but eventually it evened out and began building as you went along. The character building was a slow pace as it was more learning about the past and watching old wounds heal for love to move in. I am hoping to see more character building in the next book!

As for why I gave it four stars was because of the character building. I didn't feel there was enough and there where times where these adult characters made very juvenile decisions and if it weren't for the explicit steamy sex I would question whether it was an adult or young adult. These decisions left some gaps and many questions as to why.

Aside from that I found the story fun, sexy, and fast paced. I do recommend this very sexy Sapphic read! Thus far it is on my top five favorite LGBTQ+ novels and I look forward to the next in the series!

I knew this was fantasy, enemies to lovers smut and there's no problem with that but omg the writing is so vulgar, all the time. I'm also not a big knife play person or a hate sex person so really it was just making me uncomfortable. This is definitely not for the tension girls.
