okay i literally called the liberal ending this would have not even half way thru and i was hoping it wouldn’t go that way but i’m still giving it 5 stars cuz the other 90% of this book was amazing (even tho i think the romance could have started much sooner lol)

Starting this book already liking the synopsis I had high hopes and they were definietly met. I absolutely loved this book and have been thinking about it for a few weeks now.

I think the plot was great and it actually kept me on my toes at times. The suspence that some of the chapters had was really well written and gave me chills.

The romance was sweet and realistic, eventhough I'm not the biggest fan of slow burns I didn't mind them only becoming a couple at the very end because the relationship development was so sweet. In the chapter where Jamie got shot and they realised their feelings for each-other it was so well written and so pure, it was worth all the build up to me.

I also really liked that it had an open ending, it let's me decide their end, if they stayed or if they went on with their adventure.

I truely enjoyed this book the plot and the writing style, I highly recommend reading this book.

Overall, this was an enjoyable listen that allowed me to while away a lazy evening. While I wouldn't say it was profoundly mind-blowing or surprising, there are some uniquely fresh traits, such as this being a queer, post-apocalyptic novel, which I believe is the first I've ever read. I also found the MCs to be cute, and I was definitely rooting for them, but I didn't feel they had super strong chemistry. I just didn't quite get that "awwww" factor that I get from my favorite romances. That said, I'm glad I gave this a listen, and if there is a sequel, I'll totally check it out
