“You’re my wife, Sloane. You’re mine for as long as I can keep you.”

This was good read, as I thought the King’s mom’s disappearance is going to be ongoing throughout the series so I’m looking forward to that! It’s coming together and I kind of have a theory as to what happened to her because I don’t think it’s a simple answer. I’m really getting into Single Parent romances because there is just something so endearing about someone falling in love with the child before the parent. I teared up reading about Abel’s backstory, it is extremely sad and I honestly do not know how I would feel in Sloane’s position. It’s heartbreaking but it was nice that Sloane’s son was the one to reassure Abel about getting help. I wish Sloane’s situation wasn’t tied up as nicely though. I think it was a lot of buildup but the execution was quick and easy which pulled me out of the story a bit.

Abel absolutely had my heart!  I loved this one so much.  Fake marriage is one of my favorite tropes. I enjoy watching how they always fall. I loved how Sloane had no qualms with Abel’s past. That she just needed to know what happened. I loved how grumpy Abel was. Loved how good he was with the children. I loved seeing the vulnerable side of him. Loved seeing familiar town’s people. Loved the continued Sullivan/King antics. Loved the scorching chemistry between Sloane and Abel. Loved the tidbits of the mystery coming together.

I loved the story and the twist, the kids and their mom, everything was cute, and the writer's style was so great, I support single mom stories
