A college professor is found murdered in a bathroom of a diner in small town in Georgia. Sara Linton both the town paediatrician and Coroner finds her but can not save her in time. Together her, her ex husband police Chief Jeffrey and sole female detective Lena must solve this murder before it’s to late and more women are targeted.

I loved this book. I personally love darkness and open doors thrillers. The crimes here are horrific but the writing is impeccable. I was fully immersed in this investigation and this amazing small town in took place in.
The suspense and twists were on point and I loved how clues were dropped throughout the story, I did have a feeling who the villain was but it only enhanced my book journey to see if I was correct.
I loved the three main characters so much, they were extremely well developed and so real. I am very invested to continue along with their stories!
Lastly this book is older and it was so fascinating to be taken back to the world of fax machines and pay phones! I am jumping right into the next one in the series Kisscut!

I finished up the current Will Trent books (and loved them) so I decided to go back and read the Grand County ones. Obviously this one takes place before those, but were they written first? Anyway, I liked this one too. It felt shorter and less involved than the Will books, but I liked it none-the-less.
It was dark, it was perfect. Looking forward to reading the second book in this series!
