The book itself is pretty good but as part of a series I got bored and it got repetitive. Why is this the third book in a row where the FMC and MMC are like “I love them so much but we have this stupid actually meaningless thing keeping us apart” UGH. The pacing was so off, the middle of the book dragged on but the ending went by so fast, like zero detail for MAJOR plots. Also there are so many amazing side characters but they are so under explored. We barely know the backstory of any of them 4 books in despite having multiple povs. At this point someone should’ve died, you’re going to tell me with amount of explosions and fights no one dies??? I hate when authors won’t kill there characters (even when it will emotionally kill me) with found family being a major theme there is nothing showing the relationships between everyone. Like there was a better relationship dynamic between Loren and Roark in the last 1/2 of this book than there has been between Dallas and Loren in the entire series despite “being sisters and feeling closer than ever”. I reallllly want to love this series but omg it needs more than Darian and Loren pining after each other for the love of all that is good and holy
