Well H.D. Carlton has done it again and written a fantastic novel. I know most people find her stories to be strange and very disturbing but I like that her novels all show that everyone of her characters is slightly broken and how they fix themselves.

It felt like a little bit of a murder mystery in some places and it was definitely a psychological thriller in the majority but the characters and ending was spectacular.

Read this if you have strong stomach and want a little bit of horror/thriller and also mystery but otherwise keep away from this book!

Carlton’s style of writing is superior to all of the authors I’ve read, I love how in this book she did not shy away from the ugly sides of both Sawyer and Enzo. Their characters are complex and fucked up which made this book an extremely enjoyable read. I finished this book in one sitting and have read it many times since then. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart, as are all of H. D. Carlton’s romance books. They are dark and deal with topics that may be triggering to some readers. PLEASE FOR FUCKS SAKE READ THE WARNINGS.

This was so bad that I want to conduct a research on the sexualisation of assault and rape in media 

I probably enjoyed about 15% of the middle. And a bit of the end, I started enjoying it  after I gave up on it being a romance.  All the other times I was :o or >:( 

I choose to read this because someone made an edit of the shark scene at the start very sexily, instead it was straight up just rape. And no it was not consensual/non-consensual because they did not establish that trust or conversation before hand (in comparison to a later scene where they did something similar, but it was agreed on)
