The writing was good, but I just didn't care about the actual story itself. I really loved Dreadful, and this just wasn't as interesting to me. It was a little too 'cozy' for my tastes.

As a mom of food allergy kids the way the egg and chocolate allergy was handled frustrated me a bit. But I did very much the book after getting through the first couple chapters.

The author was using a lot of tokenism in her writing. Many of the things mentioned felt more like a way for the author to say “look how progressive I am” without adding anything to the story.
