This book was such a delight to read!

Imagine the Netflix show Wednesday but instead of Wednesday, it's about Edith. But Edith is a kindergartner and just recently became a werewolf. And the story is not written from her perspective but from her Mom's who is trying really hard to adapt to the magical world and make herself and her family fit in. But of course she has to jump some hoops, and then her family gets accused of being responsible for setting of a centuries old prophecy. Oh, and she also volunteered to be treasurer of the PTA but the numbers don't add up.

The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association is such an innovative, smart and funny book! And now I wish I had a child in Kindergarten that spontaneously turns into a wolf cub when emotionally overwhelmed!

4.5 of 5 stars 🌟

I received this book from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

This took a little while to get going for me, so while I enjoyed the first half, I wasn’t really convinced. I felt a lot like Vivian - confused and trying to keep up. But the second half definitely picked up and intrigued me a lot more.

Basically when she gets better friends everything is better and starts to make sense, plus communication actually happens!

There is a lot of good stuff here, about here the politics and snobbiness of small towns and fancy schools, just I’m possibly not the market for that 😂

3.25 stars.

Aria, a kindergartener is a recently turned werewolf, after a horrific incident. We join Vivian, her husband and Aria as they learn more about this magical community, fitting in and trying to belong. As well as managing a toddler/puppy.

The book was funny. Emotional. Cosy. The world building was fabulously done. I enjoyed the characters. My girls aren't currently at school yet, but I can see the clique groups at playgroup. The judgy and gossipy parents. The WhatsApp group had me chuckling. It was just wonderfully funny, raw and hard hitting. A few points had me relating to Vivian and my heart broke for her trauma and the strains between herself and her husband.

It was funny, predictable. Easy to read and just a joyous book to read. The cover is beautiful and the release will have a gorgeous spray edge too!!

The book is focused more on character development, but I would love to read more about the mythical world. I hope we get to see more of Vivian and Aria!

Loved this! Such a cozy read. It had really warm, family vibes.

None of the characters are perfect in this. Vivian and Daniel, the parents, both make mistakes as they try to get to grips with their 5-year old daughter becoming a werewolf after a brutal attack and having to move to enrol her in a school for others like her.

They become embroiled in local scandals and Vivian fights to fit in as a mundane in a world of magic. She makes friends with the local Mean Girls squad, to her detriment before finding her true friends.

This is a lovely tale of finding yourself, finding family, and coming to grips with tragedy.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was so much fun but also made me quite emotional.

It's a beautifully cosy fantasy about a family having to deal with their young daughter suddenly becoming a werewolf and all that this entails. You get great world building teamed with a lot of the expected PTA drama from the parents.

However, the book also deals with the loneliness of being a parent in a new town, teaching children that being themselves is the best thing and how external forces can affect an established relationship.

All of this is bound up with a bit of a mystery, creating an enthralling book that kept me turning pages. I fell in love with Vivian and saw a lot of myself in her while also rooting for Aria.

If you love cosy fantasy, this is the perfect book to get stuck into.

[ARC Review]

This was such a well-written read.

Vivian as a character articulates every mum's worries and stresses very well. While it takes time for her to acknowledge how trying to manage dealing with the added stress of now having a werewolf daughter on her own greatly affects her relationships with Daniel her husband and her friends, it's great to see how she grows from it by the end of the book.

The rest of the characters are written just as well and while few are there for plot points most have a lot of depth which is always nice to see.

Aria, the daughter, captivated me from the start and reading how she was growing almost brought me to tears!

I did not see the twist coming towards the end but it very much made sense for the plot and I kicked myself for not seeing it sooner.

I will say it did take a bit to get going, like the "attacks" made sense by the end but at the beginning they felt a bit out of place.

Overall this is such a great story about growth and acceptance and family I highly recommend it!

Thank you NetGalley and Titan Books for the e-arc in exchange for a free, honest review.

I adored this book! It was so nice to get the perspective of the non-magical family members as opposed to the person with the powers. It's a cosy fantasy with some serious topics like bullying, anxiety and counselling.
