OK, I can now see that my 2019 reading challenge book choices are going to sometimes fit into different categories than I first intended. I put my last book of the year, "Allie and Bea" into the category of 'a book told from various points of view.' And this one was going to be 'a book with an article of clothing on the cover.' But this book takes the cake in various pov's. It all takes place in NYC in current time. Each short chapter is told in the first person by many different people who's lives touch in tangential ways. In the middle I was starting to feel a little whiplash or maybe vertigo from switching so often. I loved the characters and their stories. The chapters did go back to a lot of the people to tie it together but some chapters were the only time we met that person. You have to put aside plausibility to enjoy it though. The end was delightful. It had all the happy endings a true romantic could hope for. And one WTF karma story on page 226. Oh yeah, I didn't like Sophie the liar. She did not deserve the break that she got. For the record, the book isn't about one physical dress that was worn by nine different women. It's the one hot "IT" little black dress of the season that is worn by several women (seemed like more than nine but I couldn't keep track) over several storylines.

This book was a lot of fun to listen to. The audio book is done by a cast of actors instead of one narrator, which worked for a book with so many people to keep track of. It didn't have a great deal of substance, but it was very entertaining.

Feel good book. I’m all about happy endings for books during the summer and I completely understand the power of a little black dress. 😊

Cute story. Just seemed to drag a bit after awhile. Loved how the dress was woven through the stories of each person’s life.

The amount of people in the book was confusing and it didn't hold my interest.
