Loved it! Such a cute story of many different stories, all tied to one dress. 👗

3.4 stars (doesn't quite round up to 4). I read this book after finishing Hillary Clinton's memoirs, so I was looking for a fun, lighthearted easy read. This book gave me exactly that! It was not particularly meaningful or full of substance, and the writing style was quite informal (not very literary). But it was precisely what I was looking for, and kept me entertained throughout. If this book were food, it would be cotton candy!

This was a light enchanting sometimes hilarious story about a little black dress that has a bit of magic for those who come in contact with it. The fashion house for which it was designed and the pattern maker all fit into the story. It's not only about the women who wear the dress but also able the men in their lives. Some characters have more history than others but each story is different and have a part in the telling of the tale. I find it fascinating to take something like a dress and work a whole story around it. The dress begins being modeled on a runway show and becomes the cover for a fashion magazine. Bloomingdale's in New York has the last small size and the dress travels from one lady to the next until the final story of the book. Really enjoyable and how the old gentleman who spent his entire life making clothes for women, just that right dress to make them feel beautiful was really heartfelt. I highly recommend as an enjoyable read, perhaps not great literature but then I don't think every book needs to be.

First two chapters, I thought it was going to be short stories, but she brought it all together.

I loved this. It was a quick, addictive read. It isn't particularly deep, but it's something I'd read again.

Cute and fun! This book reminds me of the films “I LOVE NY” and Valentines Day where it’s 9 short stories that all connect. I wish it had been a little longer (rare for me)

cute. I listened to this and if you're going to read it, I recommend listening because there are several narrators. Cute, but predictable. Some characters I never really got into.
