Ahhhhhhhhh Litterally read this book in just one day, Once I started I just couldn't put it down, I loved this book the first time I read it years ago and LOVED it just as much the second time around. Talon and Sunshine's stroy is beautiful one, where do I start with this book, It's HOT and STEAMY and everything in between. Lots of my favorite characters are introduced as well, Wren, Vane, Valerius, Zarek, Fang. and the GODS are explained more in this 3rd book in the series. The relationship between Artemis and Acheron, it's just so complicated, and knowing what happends later in the series it's just so heartbreaking to read what is happening now.

So I finally finished this audiobook! It took me a long time, but I'm happy I persevered. I really liked this story, and I really enjoyed Sunshine and Talon. All of Sherrilyn's characters are so funny and (almost all) are very likable. My favorite character in this book, ironically, was Zarek, even though he wasn't even the main player. But I am SOOO excited for his book. Like #blessed let's go.
Now I do have some problems with this that I'm going to address below, with some spoilers:
First of all, there were, for me, way too much *ahem* ROMANCE in this book. There was so much of Talon and Sunshine on top of each other that I was getting so tired of listening to it and wished I was reading the book so I could skim it. The possessive language in this book was also just as bad as Night Pleasure--I thought it was better with Fantasy Lover (gotta love these titles am I right), but here I found myself wincing a bit. There was an especially awful scene when Talon and Sunshine have sex after Sunshine has been drugged to lust after anyone close to her, and Talon is even like "lol we should wait until this wears off probs" and then he's like "FUCKIT" and I was like "haFUCKU" This surprised me greatly, because all the books by Sherrilyn that I have read so far have giant, HEALTHY morals (besides the language bit...ugh). In Fantasy Lover, the whole thing with Grace is that she doesn't want to be used--she wants a healthy relationship with someone who respects her. So WTF was that??? It was a mar in a book that I otherwise probably would have liked more than the other two in the series so far, and it made me rate it lower than those other two.
*sighs* I'm still looking forward to Zarek's book though. I love that dude

OK so I think where the problem lies with me, is that I've been reading the prequel series. I realized that this was probably heavier on the romance, however I didn't expect the characters to be so different from what I've seen of them already. There is still some snark and sass, however they all seem to be a bit....whipped. All of the sudden half of them don't know how to do their jobs and are all basically walking sex gods. The females honestly don't do much but throw themselves at these guys. Not saying I wouldn't but honestly I'd like a bit more of the fighting and not half of the book to be detailed sex scenes. I wanted to love this book, but I kept losing interest and it seemed to drag on forever. I still enjoy the characters and want to see how this series all ties together, however I may have to switch to physical books as I'm not really liking the narrator.
I think this is one of my favorite Dark-Hunter books so far. I already loved Talon from the other books I read about him in, but this book made me appreciate him even more. I have to say, I think Sunshine was hilarious, especially with the way she was always forgeting things. I was surprised to find that Sunshine's grandma was an ancient Celtic goddess, though. I was very happy that Vane and Fang showed up in this book, and I have now decided that I adore Fang. He was very hilarious to me, and Vane was pretty funny, too. I wanted to kill Styxx for trying to kill Acheron and especially when he stabbed Ash. And, I hate Artemis, but I have to say that I found a great amount of pleasure when she was bitching out Styxx. He so deserved it. Also, poor Ash. I always feel so, so bad for him with the way Artemis treats him all the time, especially having read [b:Acheron|2299110|Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #16)|Sherrilyn Kenyon|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1201463211s/2299110.jpg|3202442] and having read his past. It really just makes it, like, a million times worse.
2.5 stars
This might be a petty hang up but I couldn’t get past the fact that the main characters name is Sunshine. Also she’s as dumb as a rock. Plot is predictable and I felt no connection to either of the leads. Dialogue is bad and very cringe. Of the books in this series I’ve read, the backstories of the male leads are vastly more interesting than the present day storylines. Odd choice.
Also, I can understand authors taking a little creative liberty when adapting a well known story or myth but not if the myth is completely misrepresented. Artemis is consistently portrayed as horny and petulant and even goes so far as to demand sex from a man who does not want her as compensation for a favor (it’s pretty rapey).... Artemis is the goddess of the hunt and CHASTITY and is one of three virgin goddesses. For anyone with more than a passing knowledge of Greek mythology, I expect this will Drive you crazy.
From Callimachus’ “Hymn to Artemis”, when she (Artemis) is asked what gifts she would like: “Pray give me eternal virginity...”

Talon though!! I really enjoyed this book I thought it was pretty good, I'm so excited to continue on with this series I have a feeling its going to get so much better! oh and am I supposed to hate Styxx? cause I kind of like him...
Halfway through the book and it's taken me 20 days. Nothing against the book, I just haven't felt the burning desire to read like I normally do
I'm starting to see a theme in these books. Dark Hunter finds love. Dark Hunter gets there soul back. Dark hunter lives happily ever after. Not really complaining since I do prefer happy endings. Nick has to be one of my favorite characters in the series so far. He's pretty funny.
I have the feeling that it took me forever to finish this story...
Talon definitely wasn't that interesting.

I loved this book. I have found that I have been hooked in the series wanting to find out will happen to all the dark hunters. This is no exception with its funny scenes its definitely a book I would recommend.
