“It's suffocating and painful. My heart is pounding at full throttle. You can almost hear it. I'll never deny... that I've ever had these first feelings. I will treasure these sparkling feelings, never averting my eyes from them.”

That cliffhanger is killing me! I just can't wait to see what's to happen next (although, if my previous experiences mean anything, nothing will happen right away, but we'll see the proper conclusion later on in the volume). The character developments are really interesting too; Yuyuka is already much more likable, and I even kind of feel bad for her (only a little though lol), Mamura managed to be even more adorable and precious than he was in the first volume, and Sensei keeps showing more and more facets to his personality. Now on to the artwork, (can't believe I haven't talked about it yet!) it. Is. STUNNING! Honestly one of my favorite styles ever, everything is so clean, and easy to read and understand, yet all of the characters are very expressive and beautiful to look at. It kind of reminds me of Io Sakisaka's work, Ao Haru Ride, Strobe Edge, which are some of my favorite manga art as well. This volume was just as good as the last, and I can only seeing it improving in the next.

Soooooo, I'm giving this four stars because I love the friendship between Yuyuka and Suzume, but I'm reaaaaaaallly fuckin' uncomfortable about Suzumes teacher being a love interest. Now, I want to make a distinction here: I have nothing against a plot line revolving around a student being in love with their teacher as long as it's made clear that it's inappropriate. I have a HUGE FUCKING PROBLEM with a student being in love with a teacher and that teacher DEVELOPING FEELINGS FOR SAID STUDENT. I don't romanticize that and I don't think I want to continue with a series that has that kind of plot line.

Something else that's nagging at me is that I feel like this series (if I choose to continue reading it) is going to turn into Say I Love You for me where I love the female friendships but not the actual couple. For me, no matter how good the friendships are or the characters in general, a romance's job is for me to root for the main couple. If it can't achieve that, then it ultimately failed its one job and no amount of good friendships or good characters can cover that. If others feel differently, that's fine, but I'm not really interested in reading a romance manga when I don't like the romance.

This is a pretty solid series, objectively speaking, and I'm still on the fence as to whether I'm going to read more or not, but it's got its positives.

Initial thoughts:

1. The artwork is as stunning as in the first volume.
2. Loved the character development of Suzume!
3. I already know that there will be a lot of misunderstandings happening as the story continues.
4. The friendship between Yuyuka and Suzume was great!
5. I need to read volume three right now!

Still feeling that everything is pretty bland here. Also, I really don't like Yuyuka.
