Overall solid read. It was the book I was looking for in this moment to take a short break from nonfiction. The plot generally moved along pretty quickly and though the characters felt a little flat at some points, there was enough intrigue to keep me hooked until the end.
Nothing against this book, I’m just trying to get out of a slump and the whole cop procedural thing wasn’t working for me. I’ll come back to it later

I received this ARC through NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for my honest review.
I started ‘Don’t Open the Door’ and got about 2 to 3 pages in and stopped – I just felt like I might have been missing something so I went back and read ‘The Sorority Murders’ first, which was already on my TBR list.
‘The Sorority Murders’ provided a little bit of background, but I really wouldn’t have missed much if I just continued on with ‘Don’t Open the Door’. This can be read as a standalone.
Plot was well thought out, characters were likeable. Regan Merrit will definitely be one of my ‘automatic read’ series. After all the tragedy she faced in this book it will be nice to see how she starts to over come in it subsequent books.
This book was suspenseful and provided good closure to this part of Regan’s story.

First let me preface me by saying, this is not the type of book I typically read, but the story sounded interesting.
The book was as dry and unemotional as the lead character. It was so hard to care about the characters, it felt like I was reading a police case file.
