this is the second book that follows former us marshall regan merritt, the first is the sorority murder which i absolutely loved! i was really looking forward to reading more of regan’s story, but unfortunately this just wasn’t for me. it had a lot of characters right from the beginning and was really heavy on the procedural jargon so it was hard to get into. also, her ex-husband was the most insufferable character, he was so unhelpful and made the worst decisions, she was basically babysitting him the whole book which was infuriating. i’d say just read the sorority murder and skip this one.

Sometimes the names and situations were hard to follow/remember, but I really enjoyed the format. It felt like a true crime podcast or documentary.
