What a beautiful book. It seems almost sacrilegious that anyone would want to make a movie out of it. It says so much about the fragility and strength of human nature.

Well written, but I didn't enjoy how much it took from Mrs. Dalloway. It borrowed so much it didn't seem very original. He should have just written the whole story about Laura Brown.

Lovely, beautiful and fluid in text, exploring the thoughts of three contrasting and comparable women in their different lives.

The Hours is haunting and lonely and lovely.

I'd maybe especially recommend this book to mothers. It captures some moments and emotions so perfectly.

I loved Mrs. Dalloway and found The Hours to be a great homage to it. If you haven't read Mrs. Dalloway, I think you can still enjoy this book, but some of the significance might be lost. If you're in the mood for delving deep into characters' multilayered internal lives, this is a perfect choice.
