this was the grandfather of post-apocalypse novels.
this deserves a modicum of respect.
what happens in the books is dark and awful but the words themselves are beautiful.
absolutely not for everyone but if you're not a stranger to these grimdark tales, this is worth the read.

I just wasn't a huge fan of the writing style, a lot of the book just felt like what's the point? It started picking up for me about halfway in and the ending was strong and touching but a lot of it was slow.
