Came for the foresty archaology vibes, stayed for Cassie Maddox. I was along for the ride and pretty invested in figuring out the puzzle, especially swept up in the two timelines. I don’t know much about being a detective but I think this requires quite a lot of suspending disbelief (Ryan on the case in the first place most pressingly).
This is only my second TF book, but in both, she’s excellent at writing men you kinda hate but are still invested in, which is impressive.
Also, a wonderful wonderful intro description of Dublin summertime.

The writing is fine, I’m just not huge into detective mysteries. After getting 1/4 of the way through I wasn’t vibing with it. I’m withholding a rating as I knew I might not finish it
