the inner monologue was very childish & reading scarlett's pov was like watching a car crash about to happen. but i always love a good cult story & it even had a happy ending!!

I was disappointed by this one. I really enjoyed the suspense of The Cellar, and was expecting a similar reaction to Awake. But overall the plot felt too predictable. The pacing was off in the beginning, and don’t get me started on that insta-love. Plus Scarlett never felt like a believable character to me. Even when faced with the truth of her past, her reactions were over the top and didn’t seem genuine. It was an interesting premise, and enough to keep me trading until the end, but wasn’t particularly standout.

Also, where was the copyeditor???????

Not a fantastic read, but not a terrible one either, this was sort of middle of the road. Everything happened very quickly in terms of the romantic relationship, very slowly in terms of everything else, and I'm not sure that Scarlett and Imogen understand what 'friends' means. I know that some friends express their friendship by making fun of each other, but these girls were *mean*. And, Scarlett, it's perfectly normal not to remember anything from before the age of four. I don't remember much from before the age of six or seven.

However, it's a good way to pass some time, and I did finish it.
