IF Jane Austen were alive now and was a bit edgy this would be how she'd write :D Very funny writing and sharp wit. I loved the romance between Georgiana and Thomas , but the character of Frances was annoying from the first, and I felt too much time was spent on the unlikeable "mean girl" characters. I found it frustrating that the characters that deserved comeuppance didn't really get it, leaving me somewhat unsatisfied at the end. That said, I would definitely read more by the author and the 3.5 stars are very solid ones - at points throughout I thought it would be a 4.5. The narrator, Bessie Carter, was excellent and did an absolutely brilliant job.

It took me a few chapters to get into this but once I did, I kept wanting to read more. A little unrealistic but an enjoyable read that I genuinely found funny- which can be an hard thing to do in a written format. It also helped me obtain my regency fix whilst awaiting part 2 of Brigerton. Very mean girls vibes & predictable but in a good way. I enjoyed the romance. Not a bad little read.
