This one had some proper adventure in it and perfectly sound twists. I loved how each island gave a new adventure, some big and some small. The beginning did have me fearing a bit, as I did not like the idea of a book with a whining person in it, but that resolved rather quickly and the way that it was resolved was marvelous. The ending felt unfisihed for me, I wanted the boat to return to Narnia but there wouldnt have been much adventure in that, just gay merry people, and that isnt very exciting.

I remember this being one of my least favorite Narnia books. I have always disliked books that took place mainly on a ship, but C. S. Lewis excels yet again at keeping my attention. This book could have easily been bogged down with tedious sections of traveling and sailing, but it was not. Every island held an adventure, and the traveling description was kept to a minimum. As with the other books, I also found the characters annoying in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. However, just like in the previous books, there is a reason the children act the way they do, and there is a lesson to be learned. The narration is whimsical, the quests (and Reepicheep) are epic, and the entire book is fun. Who wouldn't want to sail through an ocean of lilies? Who wouldn't want to see Aslan's country? I wouldn't mind turning into a dragon either. Everything seems to work out for the characters in these stories and everyone they meet is willing to help them, yet it never seemed contrived, it never felt false. Another great installment in a great series, and what I think more children's books should be.

Reading Narnia as an adult is a very interesting experience. I’m kicking myself for having waited so long. This one is my favorite in the series so far. Very interesting story as they traveled to the end of the world. Also was a bit of a mind bender when they talked about how “some worlds are round but some might not”. Turned out that Narnia was indeed not round. I’m unsure how there are two more books when none of the Pevensie children are coming back to Narnia but I’m curious and excited to find out how the story continues!
Serinin diğer kitaplarına göre daha tekdüzeydi ve hikayenin içine girmek daha zordu. Ama yine de seri için okunurdu ve keyif verdi. Kafa dağıtmalık tatlı bir çocuk kitabı.

Best of the series! There are several passages brimming with spiritual significance, and the picaresque structure of the book brings ever more-entrancing episodes to the reader. The ending is wonderful and beautiful.
