The Tower of the Swallow is a bit different in the way it conveys narrative to the other Witcher books. This felt like more of a thriller with a bit less action and a bit more story-driven exposition. Nonetheless, it was still a marvelous experience. If you've really gotten this far into the Witcher series by now you'd either love Sapkowski or hate him and well this is Sapkowski's thing. The Tower of the Swallow lays down a foundation for the finale of the series (which I am so sad to be near to) and remembering how he stuck the landing with Baptism of Fire this build up is going to be worth it.

*Spoiler-y side note*
Deep dark fear of getting your fingers chopped off by ice skates happens, also Ciri's a timelord now, end of discussion.

I had to skip many paragraphs in order to get to the interesting parts...
