I still remember when I first read this book four years ago. I'd picked it up at a thrift store, and it took me about three weeks to get through it, all the while I was wondering why it was so popular because I didn't understand the hype.
Then I got to the plot twist at the end and I went, "oh. oh."
And I knew there was something here. The Prisoner of Azkaban was what really sealed the deal for me (this book is my weakest in the series imo) but I've been chasing the high of those mind blowing plot twists ever since and still have yet to find a series that tops this. (The Prison Healer is the only one that has ever come close

I have fond memories of this book as I loved it when I first read it. I was rather young and had tried to read lord of the rings and such but found them boring. This book just captivated my like 7 year old brain.

The first time I read this book was almost 10 years ago, so I desperately needed to reread it. I am glad I did so, for it has made me realize how talented J.K. Rowling is; her writing resonates in the hearts of both children and adults. As young as they are in this novel, Harry, Hermione, and Ron will always be one of the most brilliantly crafted characters I've encountered in my life as a bibliophile.

This series should be added to a cycle of rereads on my shelf. I listened to the audiobook and it felt more immersive than the movie! Forever coming back to it!
