Although false, Hesiod's theology of the beginning of the world is interesting and makes me, as a Christian, realize just how good our God really is. He tells these Myths as true, even though they were not really believed in his time, or before his time. The Household gods were the primary gods worshiped, not the Olympian gods and goddesses.

I read this concentrating mostly on Gaia and found it so interesting how her ability to produce was seen as such a challenge to power and authority (mostly by Ouranos, hence the castration).
