more like i’m finished with this book than i finished the book. it started off with a bang, and then got more and more dull… i won’t rate it but i won’t like it either.
The writing is so dry, but the plot was exciting enough to make up for it. I had to write an alternate ending for class, and in my opinion, it's better than the canonical ending. Mine had a grown up Pearl who also wrote an A, but it wasn't for adultery. Instead, she helped and hurt people as she pleased, earning her the self-proclaimed nickname of Ambiguous.

it was a difficult read in terms of language. it felt like reading a technical paper in terms of not fully grasping what was going on without a lot of effort. good story and themes, just not the most engaging

Un récit classique que j'ai apprécié sans plus, je l'ai lu en audio books, cela à peut-être jouer. Je ne me suis pas sentie très investie par le récit, je m'attendais à plus de mystère et de norceur. Je n'ai pas grand choses à dire de plus sur le roman.
