Mason Steele is an incredible hockey player with the weight of the world on his shoulders that has him focused on what is important and relationships are not included. Mason tries to upfront and honest even if sometimes he is completely wrong like he was with Harper and you want to smack him around for that, but he is jaded and has his reasons. He is an incredible son and older big brother that does everything for family because to him family and hockey are all that matters. One thing I loved was he wasn’t this big player flaunting conquests around like some hockey players, but he kept his extra curricular discreet and straight forward. Harper liked to say whatever was on her mind, was stronger than she thought, but carried so many wounds from the way her family treated her, but she gave Mason just as good as he did and their anger towards each other was so intense you just knew it would combust once they acted on the tension. The emotions and insecurities with both characters are so real they shred your heart and pulling for them to find their own happiness. Scottie, Mason’s brother was the glue that held everyone and everything together and the way Mason was with him melted my heart. This book was really emotional and full of misconceptions each character has for each other, but it is full of heart and true family that is created by those who stand by you and not always blood.

On Thin Ice is the second book in the Lakeshore U series. This book is told from dual points of view from Harper and Mason. When I started listening to this, I didn't realize it was book two, so I'm going to go back and read book one.

I really enjoyed this book. Way more than I thought I would. Both characters are going through their own battles. Harper has something that happens when she eats certain stuff, and it resonates with me as my daughter has the same thing. Mason cares for his brother which also resonates with me, as his brother has something my son has. It really pulled my heartstrings reading it.

Mason wants nothing to do with Harper, but Harper keeps showing up in his life. Harper's dad also comes into the picture, and Mason realizes there is more to their relationship than he originally thought.

I really enjoyed this book, and seeing the banter, the push and pull, and just how the characters treated each other. Mason is being pulled two ways with his hockey as well.

I can't wait to continue with this series.

This is my first time reading L.A. Cotton and thought this was a fast-paced, enjoyable hockey romance. I listened to this on audiobook and really enjoyed the narration. Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter did a great job narrating and bringing these characters to life. Teddy Hamilton was perfect as Mason and sexy as always.

This was a grumpy x sunshine romance, but the hero came off as more of an asshole than just grumpy for the first part of the book.

Mason is a star hockey player for Lakeshore U. He meets Harper since their friends are dating. He immediately has the wrong impression of Harper and just thinks she is a puck bunny. Harper tries to befriend him, but Mason rebuffed her multiple times in cruel ways. Harper volunteers at the center/school his autistic brother goes to and she has such a sweet relationship with him. Mason could not stop his interest or attraction to Harper, especially when he realized how good she was with his younger brother. He tried to have a one night stand with her to get her out of his system, but we all know how that goes.

Things get complicated when her father becomes the assistant coach. She has a difficult and estranged relationship with her father. He treats her like crap and doesn't want anything to do with her. I really liked Harper's character and how she tried to be positive after everything she went through. She has celiac disease, and I appreciated the chronic illness rep in this book.

Mason had a lot of weight and responsibilities on his shoulders since his dad left his mom. He has a younger autistic brother, and he feels like all of his energy and focus needed to be spent in helping his brother and mom. He came off as such an asshole to Harper in the beginning, but he was so sweet with his mom and brother. Mason changed his asshole ways with Harper once he started to learn who she really was. He redeemed himself in the last 3rd of the book. I loved how he was supportive and all in with her when he finally let her in.

Thank you to Forever and Always PR and the author for providing the audio ARC.

This is a beautiful addition to the Lakeshore U hockey series. At first, I couldn't stand Mason, the grumpy hockey hero, but I gained a deeper understanding of his burdens as the story unfolded. Harper, the coach's daughter with celiac disease, faced challenges and reminded me of one of my best friends who also suffers from this disease. The book beautifully delves into their journey of love amidst complex family dynamics. The side characters and their witty banter added humor, and the found family elements melted my heart. Mason's redemption, in the end, left me satisfied. I must mention that the audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter was exceptional. I highly recommend this book!

Oh my gosh this world just keeps getting better! This book killed me with their angst! I swear my stomach was filled with butterflies the entire time I read this book.

On Thin Ice is a grumpy/sunshine, coach’s daughter romance that will have you loving Mason and Harper! I ate this book up! I could not and did not want to put it down! Mason and Harper definitely brought the spice level high. These two are such opposites that it made for such a story. This read was emotional, relatable, and just great characters. Scottie is one of the characters I adored the most!

This was really a great book that I think others will love as well! Thanks definitely recommend On This Ice, as well as the rest of the series for others to read!!

Narrated by the wondeful voices of Stella Hunter & Teddy Hamilton these two were a perfect duet it was so beautiful to hear them. It was a really magical and passionate duet.

Thanks to foreverandalwayspr for sending me this in exchange for an honest review.

It's the first time that I read while listening to the book and it was such a great experience and I think that’s the reason why I was so deep into this story. I can also say that Grumpy/Sunshine is definetly my thing. Wow I loved this book so much ♥.

Emotionaly I’m so full, this book had a power over me and this story got under my skin so deeply.
My heart raced and broke a couple of times for Harper. This story was so deep and it was so captivating that it was really hard to put it down.

Harper endure so much in her life and always kept her feelings for herself. She has issues to get attention from her father and I know how hard it could be, to be recognize, to be seen.

Mason is struggling between his personnal life and his futur carreer. He’s so invested taking care about his family that he don’t invested himself completly in his hockey's game. He wants Harper, but he don’t like that feeling, he hate to want her. Mason has a strong bond with his little brother, a really powerful one. He think his responsible for him.

The tension between Harper and Mason was so strong that it had tensed my heart too. They have this strong sexual tension between them it was like magnetic. I loved all the banter, the humour with all their group of friends. It was so heartwarming to read, that these two are stock in my head and I can’t stop thinking about them.

This book was wonderful and I was so hooked from the beginning and I absolutly loved it. This author really did an amazing job to take the readers feel all the emotions that been through the main characters. It was perfect.

SWOON!

On thin Ice by LA Cotton is an all new enemies to lovers romance in her Lakeshore U series.
Harper and Mason have been enemies since they knew eachother, especially after Mason rejected her friendship request.
Mason is a commitmentphobe and doesnt have time for a girlfriend next to hockey and his little brother, who was just the sweetest.

I really enjoyed this story! It was fun, heartbreaking and just overall an amazing novel.

LA Cotton is the master of college sports romance and tight friendship groups.
