This was a fun read. The author claims that they had the idea for this before the outbreak of Covid, but it sure seems influenced by the idea. What if Covid was 1000 times worse and instead of just killing people, it turned them into feral humans. I gave it an extra star because of an interesting twist that comes to light, but then I took one away because
Spoiler the dog was killed for no reason.

Fajnie się rozwija. Sceneria jest przerażająca sama w sobie. Raczej jedna z tych co zapada w pamięć

This was a good book overall, I'm just not sure what to think of the ending? I liked the horror elements and the settings, and I'm definitely intrigued to read other books by CJ Tudor tho.

Relentless and highly engaging, would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a solid horror thriller. Points detracted because I was a little underwhelmed by where it all went in the end, and the prose is... let's say utilitarian. But every other page there's a new development so I never felt like my time was being wasted.

I'm not normally a huge reader of thrillers, but I enjoyed this one! The Drift was well-plotted and engaging, and the concept of a thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world is one I haven't seen before. CJ Tudor managed to keep the story twisting and turning right until the very end. I thought she struck the right balance between having twists that weren't completely predictable - I did guess some of them, but I think I guessed them at the exact moment I was supposed to guess them - and not having the story be so unknowable that it just got annoying. Instead the revelations came in a satisfying order, so that even when I didn't know what was going on, I felt reassured that I would shortly.

I do think the ending was the weakest part of the book, but then again I don't know how it could have ended any differently really! I was equally engaged by each of the three storylines, which doesn't always happen with this kind of structure, and overall this was just a fun enjoyable read on a sunny Saturday (though perhaps it might have been more impactful if I read it in the winter).

Enjoyed this a lot but did struggle to keep track of the characters at times
