This was my first by this author. I think I will try another. Do not want to give anything away. The story had good pace and kept you guessing but I am not really sure I would say it was a great story. There were some surprises but the ending was not satisfying for me.

Wow, what a dark and brutal book! Tudor did a great job weaving together three stories and showing how the world dealt with the aftermath of a viral outbreak (definitely hit a little close to home) and how humanity has changed to survive in this dystopia. While I enjoyed the book as a whole, it was really the end that cemented my fondness for this book. The twists and turns and reveals had my jaw dropping over and over again. Even when I thought I knew where the story was going, Tudor would throw another wrench into the works. Great winter read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. I received the ebook in exchange for my honest review.

Loved this book!! From the first page I was hooked. I wanted to know about everyone’s stories and each time it switched to the other perspective I didn’t want it too as you get so hooked on each person. I knew there was some link between each one and at one point I did think it could be one persons timeline rather than three consecutive timelines but even though I figured that out I still loved when it was revealed. Sad about Dexter though that got me. This was my first read of C J Tudor and I am definitely running to the book store to get more of her books. Can’t wait for her next one!

Keeping up with 15 characters was not easy and it made it hard to get invested in any particular story.

I kind of guessed one of the bigger reveals and then forgot I guessed it because I put the book down for a few weeks. Ended up being right so I guess that was nice?

The ending though. It felt like it needed a lot more work because it felt so random. There are so many things left unanswered, which makes it hard to follow or believe anything in the end. There’s even a whole conversation between two characters where I got really confused because it was obviously impossible for what they’re discussing to be true. By the time the last two chapters came about, I didn’t understand how things worked anymore, or believe any of it was possible, so the whole thing felt like a major letdown.

Another great story from Tudor. This one is a thriller with a snowstorm, and a mysterious virus. You’ll get to know three groups trying to survive. And you’ll get a dark satisfying and unsettling ending.
