dark mysterious medium-paced

While entertaining, not my cuppa tea.

CJ is a genius, an artist, everything and everything.

Fast paced and gripping this book is extremely good! CJ doesn’t hold back when it comes to her characters and I became instantly engrossed with all of them (and there are a lot of them!)

The gory elements were littered throughout. Not overpowering but punchy enough to make me surprised when they happened and reel in disgust. Well done!

By about half way through I knew how each of the three stories were linked, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to find out how and why they were linked as fast as possible!

Also, awesome world building.

Don’t know what else to say, just stellar

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
each chapter of the drift had me hooked—claustrophobic, twisty, and totally gripping. i loved how the tension built across the different storylines, with each perspective dropping just enough breadcrumbs to keep me guessing.

but after all that suspense, the ending felt a bit underwhelming. i wanted something bigger, bolder... something to match the high-stakes build-up. still, a compelling and clever read from cj tudor that’s well worth picking up if you love layered thrillers with a chilling atmosphere.

❄️ tense, twisty, and just shy of truly unforgettable.

Cj Tudor has become one of my "get the book as soon as it's released" authors, so I was eager to get into this one. If [b:A Sliver of Darkness|60018645|A Sliver of Darkness|C.J. Tudor|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1646024756l/60018645._SY75_.jpg|94496511] showed anything, it was how adept CJ Tudor is at horror, so I was happy to see this genre being tackled again.

Told in 3-parts it made an interesting format, especially when they weaved into one narrative. The story itself was slow to build, nothing is explained explicitly, and you have to gather information bit by bit as each section unfolds. I enjoyed this, but found the ending somewhat lacklustre after all that build-up.

The characters weren't super appealing either, and I can't say I 'liked' any of them, though they're obviously a product of the world they now live in.

I'd round up from 3.5 based on the fact it was well crafted, and I enjoyed it for most part.
