Another amazing book about the Tridents! I’ve impatiently waited for Monty’s story since we first met him in Break the Rules.
Baseball romance is by far my favorite sports romance. And catchers are my favorite player, so how could I not drool over Monty?! He’s the fun loving, playful, happy go lucky guy on the team. But he has his secrets. Lark is his best friend. He’s wanted her from when they first met, but Lark was in a relationship. Monty was determined to settle for just friendship to keep her in his life. He’d do anything for her. Seeing them get together is the sweetest thing. They are definitely #couplegoals

This was a great friends-to-lovers, it’s always been her, baseball romance. Monty was the sweetest golden retriever and it was great to see the female friendships push Lark to really think about what she wants for her life.
They make a great couple and I love that they embraced an accidental pregnancy with such positivity and excitement. There was no third act breakup and they really love each other.
I appreciated that most of this book was about them building their relationship and not the pregnancy until the end after they had been together for a little while. The way their relationship progressed was also very adult and mature. This is the way a virgin hero, accidental pregnancy story should be told.
Book 3 in the Vancouver Tridents series, can be read as a complete standalone.

Nothing wrong with that, he just hadn’t met the right person. Until he did, but she was already in a relationship, so being the good guy that he is, he resigned to just being her best friend.

He certainly catches my heart. I just absolutely adored Monty and Lark. He was always doing small gestures for her, even when they were just friends. But when they become more, they become so much more. That more may also include a surprise pregnancy, and I was here for it! With each turn of the page, Monty had my heart melting more.
I love this book and this series. The characters are all amazing, and this southern belle (jk my mother wishes 🤣) is soooo excited to see what Julia has in store for our Darling southern boy.
