That was truly terrible. Barely a plot line, no obstacle no nothing. Would give zero stars if possible. Will not read any more from this series. Boo.
I’ve never met a JJ book I didn’t love, so here’s what you can expect in this one:
friends to lovers
fiance is a douche and the best friend has been pining for years
accidental pregnancy
baseball
virgin male lead
small town vibes
This book was so sweet, and I really enjoyed the pacing. Lark and Monty have a very solid friendship to serve as the foundation for their new romance, and y’all know I love a friends to lovers story.

We’ve met these two characters previously in the series and we’ve always known they would end up together.
Dan Montgomery wins this series as far as book boyfriends are concerned. He brought all the sweetness one could ask for. With just the right amount of innocence and all the respect for women, he had plenty of green flags.
Lark Miller was the fierce athletic woman we all knew her to be. But she seemed to have a soft side that only Dan could bring out. And I couldn’t help but love her more than I did before.
These two had me routing for them from the beginning. A relationship based on friendship first that turns to a forever love. Lark and Dan found a way to be together despite their different upbringings.
You’ll find a Virgin hero, friends to lovers, so much swoon, different moms, friendship on and off the field, baseball hero, athletic trainer, surprise pregnancy, Star Wars geek.
I loved this story.
I gave Lark and Dan 4,5
Now THIS is how the "it's always been you" trope should be done

This book is so darn cute!!!
If you love friends to lovers, you’re going to devour this. Monty & Lark are so adorable together. They’re best friends who quote Star Wars daily and like to nerd out together.
I would definitely say Monty had golden retriever energy. He knows all her favorite foods and keeps stock of them in his apartment. How cute is that?!? His love for Lark was so pure & sweet. I absolutely adored him as a love interest.
I liked that Lark was a bit nerdy too. She struggles at the beginning of the book with a big decision but I liked that she learned to put her needs first. I enjoyed her character a lot too.
The steamy scenes were great, especially everything leading up to the finish line
